Bishop Diego Wrestling now in it's fourth year headed down to Atascadero entering a 20 team 16 man bracket tournament.

Placers were Jacob Sandoval at 152lb. 5th place and Thomas Perez at 215lb. 8th place.
Note that Thomas weighs 184lbs. yet he wrestled at 215lb. weight class since we were only allowed to bring 1 per weight class Thomas decided to step up and the heavier guys.
"Thomas was very impressive the entire weekend with 4 wins and 1 loss" says Coach John Sandoval.Perez had 3 pins and 1 major decision to clench 8th place.
Jacob Sandoval had 2 very close losses, 1 loss to the eventual champion 8-6 and the other to the runner up 6-5
Sandoval who is suffering from a nagging shoulder injury wich happened in football this season refuses to let anything stand in his way."They were tough losses"says Coach Sandoval"Jacob will have to face his injury head on become C.I.F Champ this year."
Unfortunately Dru Davis-Orr was injured in his first match and was unable to continue "Dru is a big part of our lineup"says Sandoval"it's tough for us to loose a kid like Dru he really enjoys the sport and gives 110% every time."Dru will be back on Tuesday to face Fillmore's 189lb. "Turtle".
Josh Kohansamahd was also hurt he will be back in action Tuesday as well.
Byron Berry and David Dubian competed on the first day of the Tournament in the A pool and were unable to continue due to the level of wrestlers in the A pool."If they had been put in the B pool I am convinced that they would have placed in the top" says Coach Sandoval.
