Again, we are very proud of everyone. Lots of our swimmers received medals for their performances. We will have all of these at our end of year party. Remember, our family pool party is Sunday night, Aug. 2nd from 6:30-8:30 p.m. We have rented the entire pool for our team, so bring your family. Remember to bring covered dish...enough for your family plus some extra. We hope to see everyone there :) Thanks for such a great, fun year!!!
Great Job, everyone! We won last night in Manchester...which ended up being a four-team meet. We beat each team there. That is so great. I'm not sure if we have beaten Athens before at Championships, so we are extremely proud. Katrina will post results soon.
No practice today (Wednesday), but we will see you Thursday for our last practice.
Remember the end of the year party...Aug. 2
Our end of season family party will be on Sunday, August 2nd from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This is the only night the pool will rent out for private parties. As usual, it will be covered dish (bring enough for your family plus a few) with drinks provided. We are renting the entire pool this year, so it should be lots of fun!
More details to come...mark your calendars!
Great Job last night. We beat Shelbyville 346-275! That was a great win. Thanks to everyone who worked hard last night, both swimmers and parents. The results are posted on www.mcminnvilletenn.com under the swim team page...thanks, Katrina.
REMINDER...I need to know BEFORE THURSDAY night whether you will be at the Manchester meet (next Tuesday) AND the Championships (at Sewanee on Sat the 18th). We have to turn these in Thursday night. IF YOU DO NOT LET ME KNOW, YOU WILL NOT BE PUT IN THESE MEETS. We have to pay lots of money for Championships, and we do not want to spend money for people not showing up at the last minute. Thanks to those of you who have already told me. Let me know soon (212-5791).
No practice today (Wed), but we will practice Thursday).
Everyone did a great job last night. We hate it that Winchester could not make it, but we feel it was a success with some swimmers improving their times. Thanks again to all the parental help and support.
Tuesday, we travel to Shelbyville to swim. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m. We will leave from Hullett's at 3:00 p.m. If you are meeting us in Shelbyville, please be dressed and ready at 4:30 p.m. We need you to let us know by the weekend if you are coming to the meet or not. Unfortunately, there are some parents who are not informing us whether your child is going to participate or not. At an away meet, we will not be able to add swimmers to our roster late. Please let us know at practice tomorrow or text us by the weekend to let us know yes or no about the meet. Thanks to those of you who have already let me know :) We look forward to a great meet!
Just a reminder, we will practice on Thursday, July 2nd and take Friday, July 3rd off for the holiday. Next week, we will practice on Monday with the meet on Tuesday.
We are so proud of everyone for the great efforts Saturday against Sewanee. We had a great meet...the guys really came close in their events. Some of our relay lineups will continue to change due to people cutting their times...great job!!! Again, all the swimmers were so well behaved...it is so nice that everyone is where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be :)
A HUGE thanks to all the parents working the bullpens and keeping the swimmers in tune with what is going on. We could not do it without you! Thanks also to everyone who worked the meet...as always, we have the greatest parents who are so helpful and kind. We really appreciate what you do! Thanks to Katrina who has posted the results again at www.mcminnvilletenn.com for you to view. We did have several DQs this meet, and we plan to work on these things this week so we will be ready for them at Championships.
We will have practice tomorrow (Monday), and then our meet is Tuesday. Again, please let me know ASAP whether you are coming to the meet or not. We have to turn in roster tomorrow night. If you do not tell me, I will assume you are not coming, so PLEASE let me know.
Katrina Haley has posted our meet results on the City of McMinnville's website. Please click on the link below to view. When you get on the site, scroll down on the left side of the page to the Pages category...under this is "swim team". Click here to pull up our results. If you have a hard time understanding the results sheet, we will be glad to explain. On individual events, the points are 5 points (1st place), 3 points (2nd place), and 1 point (3rd place). On relays, the points are 10 points (1st place) and 5 points (2nd place). If there is an X by a name, that only means the child did not receive points for the team. If there is a DQ by a name, this means the child was disqualified for some stroke error (no two hand touch, wrong kick, too early take off, etc.). We have the DQ sheets with us, so if you need more clarification, please let us know. Also, there were several DQ's that we did not think were correct; however, the other coach called it. If we have not talked to your child about this, do not worry....We will clarify with them.
Thanks to those of you that told me yesterday and today about your attendance at the meet on Saturday. If you have not told me yet, please text me or call me (212-5791) to let me know as soon as you can. We need all the events turned in THURSDAY NIGHT! We will need lots of parental help again for this meet to help it run as smoothly as it did last time. Thanks again!
Meet begins at 10:00 a.m. We need everyone there by 9:00 a.m. dressed and ready to warm up. Remember, no practice tomorrow. Practice on Thursday and Friday!
Great practices today!!!
Wow! What a great way to start a season! We beat Lewisburg last night 526-95!!!! Everyone did such a great job! We are so proud of the way everyone swam and especially proud of your great sportsmanship! Some of the new ones swam like they have been on the team for years. Our relay teams did really great, and we look forward to our next meet against Sewanee.
Parents, thank you so much for all your hard work last night. I know we say this often, but we undoubtedly have the best parents around. Our meet ran so smoothly thanks to all your help. We could not ask for better people to work with!
Our next meet is next Saturday at 10:00 a.m. against Sewanee. As you know, they will be VERY competitive, but we feel we have a really good chance this year. Please try to be here for this meet...maybe we can get them this year. We will have the list at practice Monday, so please begin telling Candice AS SOON AS YOU CAN if you can be at the meet.
For some reason, the reply email to this site is not working now, but we have someone looking into it. So, if you have tried to email us and we haven't responded, it is because we have not received it. So sorry. For now, it would be best to text or call our cells if you need us: Todd-224-2239 or Candice 212-5791.
Remember, NO PRACTICE today! And again, GREAT JOB last night.
We will have all the scores posted by late this afternoon....Thanks!
Thanks everyone for making our first day of practice a success. There were several swimmers not there for various reasons, but we still had approximately 80 swimmers for our first day. It appears we will have a roster approaching 120 again this year. We (Candice, McKenna, and Todd) are excited about this year and looking forward to a great summer.
We had a board meeting this week and elected new officers for the upcoming season. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your board. Kevin Sizemore-President, Jennifer Wright-Vice-President, Nancy Golden-Treasurer, Melanie Brock-Secretary, Kathy Arms-Public Relations, Regina Matheney/Jennifer Moore-Bull Pen Managers, Kaye Connor-Place Judge Chairman, Robin Phillips-Ribbon/Awards Chairman, and Katrina Haley-Technology Manager. Thank you to this group for assuming these leadership roles. We know we have the best set of parent volunteers in our league and want to thank you for all your help.
