The Calgary Flames are shopping C Daymond Langkow around. The Sabres have held talks this week.

Anahiem, Cal...  Daniel Alfredsson netted 2 goals and added an assist to lead the Avs past the Ducks in preseason showdown.  Invitee Shawn Bates chipped in a solid performance with a goal and 2 assists. Other goals were: Marek Svatos,Paul Stastny and Darcy Tucker. Chris Phillips and Scott Hannan had two assist each. Craig Anderson stopped 40 shots.    The Ducks got goals from Saku Koivu (2) and Scott Niedermayer.  Rod Brind'Amour was a minus 2  for the Ducks. Jonas Hiller stopped 34 shots.

Nashville, Tenn..  Trent Hunter and Patric Hornqvist each had a goal and assist while Jason Arnott and Sean Bergenheim netted solo's as the Predators blanked the St.Louis Blues 4-0. Pekka Rinne stopped 31 shots. Paul Kariya had 5 shots in his preseason debut.

The Nashville Predators today brought back a former player in Paul Kariya in a trade with the St. Louis Blues. Nashville sent  LW Antti Pihlstrom, C Jack Skille and a 2010 3rd round pick (from NYI) to St. Louis for the sniper. Kariya brings a hefty price tag making making 6 million in 2009-10.  It will cost the Preds 5.1million against the cap.  Skille was brought over from Chicago in the Dan Hamhuis deal last week. Kariya will be a FA at the end of the season.

Rumor has it that the Florida Panthers want to acquire D Ed Jovanovski from Coyotes. A deal that was posted was Jovanovski and Kevin Porter to Florida for D Bryan Allen, C Jay McClement and D Mike Caruso.

With the arrival of new C Mike Comrie the Oilers sent RW Fernando Pisani to the Florida Panthers for RW Dan Collins and a 2011 6th rd draft pick. The deal gives the Oilers 1.7 million in cap space. Pisani was making 2.5 mil and will be a FA at the end of the year. The Oilers are looking to unload one of the defensman to add a cheaper player to help on the 4th line.

The Rangers looked into acquiring Blues LW Paul Kariya but found his 7 million salary to big to acquire. Alexander Radulov is rumored to be heading to broadway. His rights belong to Nashville Predators.

The rumored 3-team deal that reportedly involves the Rangers, Sabres and Panthers has hit a snag due to a players contract being out of range for thier budget. All teams will still talk into the night.

The Anahiem Ducks have acquired 39 year old C Rod Brind'Amour from the Carolina Hurricanes for C Todd Marchant, C Ryan Carter and a 5th draft pick in 2011.

FA Eric Lindros will decide shortly where he will be playing hockey for the upcoming 2009-10 season.  Teams in the hunt are Rangers, Capitals, Maple Leafs, Red Wings, Kings and Islanders.

The Colorado Avalanche acquired C Daniel Alfreddson and D Chris  Phillips from Ottawa Senators for RW Milan Hejduk and D John-Michael Liles late sunday night.

The Nashville Predators have sent D Dan Hamhuis, C Dave Legwand and RW Jared Smithson to the Chicago Blackhawks for D Brent Seabrooke, D Niklas Hjamarlsson and C Jack Skille.
